THE PREDICTION

Mackenzie McDonald has reached this stage of a Grand Slam before and beyond with his shock run to the round 16 at Wimbledon back in 2018 and this match between two unseeded players is an incredible opportunity for one of them to make the second week here in Melbourne. Lloyd Harris has come through one more set than his opponent but the 23-year-old is exceptionally fit and unlikely to be feeling any sort of fatigue unless this goes to a decider, which it may well do. McDonald and Harris have not faced each other at tour level before and with this result able to go any which way it could be worth opting for both to take a set here and leave it at that.
