Daniil Medvedev has been victorious at his past three tournaments for a reason and is a sure-fire contender for the title here in Melbourne. He was untroubled by Vasek Pospisil, one of the last players to have beaten him at the Vienna Open last year, and should fare even better against his next opponent. Carballes Baena is full of running but should struggle to reach the sometimes impossible angles Medvedev can make. Straight sets for the Russian seems a safe option here.
