THE PREDICTION

28th-seed Filip Krajinovic was challenged throughout his first round match with the Netherlands’ Robin Haase but managed to come through in four sets to face Pablo Andujar for the first time. The 35-year-old Spaniard faced 17 aces against Quentin Halys in his first match in Melbourne but used all his experience to break the Frenchman five times to win the match in comfortable enough straight sets. Krajinovic is not in his best form right now and world number 59 Andujar could spring a trap here if the Serb does not find an extra gear. To be fair to the world number 33, a four-set victory in his first singles match since last November’s Paris Masters is not bad going, though, and both players can take a set in a hard-fought Krajinovic win.
