World number 121 Christopher O’Connell did incredibly well to beat in-form Jan-Lennard Struff after the German played so well in last week’s ATP Cup, ins straight-sets to boot. The 26-year-old will be buzzing from that career-win and could fly through Radu Albot on momentum alone if the Moldovan is not careful. World number 85 Albot, however, also won one of the best matches of his career against the 13th seed Roberto Bautista Agut in four after losing a close first-set tiebreak. With both players through to an unlikely second round meeting, this looks a vastly difficult result to call. O’Connell will be well supported by the home crowd but 31-year-old Albot is a consummate professional and a battler at that. This match could go all the way but a winner is tough to side with. Both players to take a set here looks almost inevitable and it seem best to leave it there. At a push, Radu Albot is tough enough to overcome the crowd and O’Connell but this really looks 50/50.
