The prediction

The Sydney Swans struggled against old rival Essendon last week, eventually succumbing by eight points in a tight and low scoring affair at Marvel Stadium. The Swans were smashed in contested possessions early in the game before drawing within two kicks late in the contest, but the Bombers resisted the Swans in the moments that mattered. Head Coach Dean Cox is fully aware of how tough this coaching thing is as a disappointing Swans season continues with just the three wins on the board.

Carlton defeated St Kilda 77-62 at the MCG last Friday. While it was a welcome return to the winners list for the Blues, they were anything but convincing. 

The past six contests between the two sides have been shared with three wins a piece. The home side having won all six contests.

We think that Carlton can buck the trend in this one and defeat the Swans on their home turf. Patrick Cripps has been in excellent form and Charlie Cameron is starting to find the goals more regularly again in a good sign for the Blues.
