Sydney Thunder showed everyone their title credentials this year with a comprehensive six-wicket victory away to Melbourne Renegades on opening day, restricting their opponents to just 138 runs for the loss of nine wickets. The Thunder successfully chased down their target with three overs and six wickets to spare, with Anika Learoyd top-scoring with 48. Georgia Voll was key with the ball, taking four wickets for just 26 runs, and will no doubt have a big part to play again.
Here in Sydney, they face a Brisbane Heat side still without a point to their name and coming off the back of an agonising final ball defeat to Sydney Sixers.
