Sri Lanka have been outmatched over the course of their World Cup campaign so far and things got worse for them against England at the weekend. Captain Chamari Athapaththu was stretched off with cramps during the Sri Lankan innings and whilst she returned to bat, England had relatively little trouble defending their score of 253/9, dismissing Sri Lanka for 164 to win by 89 runs.

New Zealand have been far from their best across the competition but may just be starting to turn a corner following their 100-run thrashing of Afghanistan. They have the players to be challenging for a place in the top four and perhaps this win will serve as a catalyst moving forwards.
