Southampton vs Wrexham prediction

Southampton suffered a humiliating relegation from the Premier League last season. Former Stade de Reims and Lens boss Will Still has since been appointed at St Mary’s, but their business has remained slow with several players still being linked with moves away. They are still expected to challenge for automatic promotion this season.

They now face a Wrexham side that gained promotion to the second-tier of English football after three successive automatic promotions to go from non-league football to the Championship. Phil Parkinson has seen his Red Dragons’ squad once again evolve and develop with some heavy spending this summer, but this is a major step up.

Wrexham will do well to avoid being dragged into a relegation battle this season, and Saints have to be seen as favourites to grind themselves to a win against a typically robust and pragmatic Wrexham side.

Southampton vs Wrexham tip: Southampton to win & under 3.5 goals
