THE PREDICTION
Brive had their Challenge Cup match at London Irish postponed last Sunday to give them a three-week break from competitive rugby and that could end up suiting them at home to Clermont. The visitors lost 23-29 to Ulster in the Champions Cup two weeks ago in keeping with a difficult season in which they have managed to win only half of their Top 14 matches. They have lost all but one of their away games in the division, whilst Brive have won four of five home matches so far. The hosts’ sole defeat here came by two points in a 6-8 loss to La Rochelle. Given the extra rest and Clermont’s current inconsistency taking Brive to edge this outright seems reasonable.
