THE PREDICTION

Ireland finished a full five points behind their Group A rivals England having not managed to secure a bonus point in any of their three matches and this 3rd-place play-off could be quite the match now with Scotland going so well in Group B. The Scots ended up with 11 points having acquired a full set of bonus points in the, admittedly, far easier group and they will be offensively dangerous at the Aviva Stadium on Saturday. With the prospect of fans returning in limited numbers, though, there will be cause for celebration in Dublin that should spill out onto the pitch. It will be an engrossing watch and possibly the match of the weekend but Andy Farrell’s Ireland side should be able to cover -9 to make amends for not reaching the final.
