THE TEAM NEWS
CASTLEFORD TIGERS
- Castleford Tigers avoided a third straight loss as they did just enough to get the better of Toulouse in their most recent encounter but this will be a tough ask to go back-to-back as they host Catalans Dragons.
- Lee Radford was hoping that the international break would help his side get some injured players back but only Jake Mamo is back in contention following a spell of compassionate leave, although they have moved to sign Alex Mellor from Leeds Rhinos and he could debut here.
21-man squad: 2 Derrell Olpherts, 4 Jake Mamo, 5 Bureta Faraimo, 6 Jake Trueman, 7 Danny Richardson, 8 Liam Watts, 9 Paul McShane, 10 George Lawler, 11 Kenny Edwards, 12 Adam Milner, 14 Joe Westerman, 14 Nathan Massey, 15 George Griffin, 17 Mahe Fonua, 22 Daniel Smith, 23 Greg Eden, 24 Cheyse Blair, 25 Suaia Matagi, 26 Ryan Hampshire, 28 Brad Martin, 37 Alex Mellor
Unavailable: Callum McLelland, Sosaia Feki, Jordan Turner, Niall Evalds, Alex Sutcliffe, Gareth O’Brien
Questionable: Jake Mamo
CATALANS DRAGONS
- Catalans Dragons made an immediate return to winning ways as they comfortably got the better of Hull FC last time out with the French side doing so without really getting out of first gear in the process.
- The Dragons will be eager to build on that success as they aim to make it five wins from six and they will be boosted by the return of Josh Drinkwater in the halves while Gil Dudson also returns to the 21-man squad to bolster Catalans’ front row options.
21-man squad: 2 Tom Davies, 3 Samisoni Langi, 5 Fouad Yaha, 6 Mitchell Pearce, 7 Josh Drinkwater, 8 Gil Dudson, 9 Micky McIlorum, 10 Julian Bousquet, 11 Matt Whitley, 12 Mike McMeeken, 13 Benjamin Garcia, 15 Benjamin Jullien, 16 Paul Séguier, 17 Mickael Goudemand, 18 Matthieu Laguerre, 19 Arthur Romano, 20 Tyrone May, 22 Dylan Napa, 27 Joe Chan, 28 Sam Kasiano, 29 Sam Tomkins
Unavailable: Dean Whare, Arthur Mourgue, Jordan Dezaria
Questionable: Josh Drinkwater
THE PREDICTION
Castleford Tigers occupy the sixth and final spot in the play-offs but they know they need to find some greater consistency if they are to make that position their own. They avoided a third consecutive defeat by overcoming Toulouse in their most recent contest but this will be a much tougher task for them. Catalans Dragons were impacted by a raft of international call-ups last week so that could have impacted their preparation but they are not far away from being able to name a full-strength squad and having won the past five games between the two teams, the French outfit are likely to be too good once again.
