- Warrington Wolves ended the regular season in third spot thanks to a win over Huddersfield Giants in their last encounter and they should be nice and refreshed for a Grand Final challenge having played just once since the 14th October.
- The Wolves have had several matches cancelled at short notice because of issues related to COVID-19 as well as their game with Salford Red Devils being forfeited by their opponents as they were unable to field a squad due to injuries.
- Warrington have suffered a big blow in the build-up to this game with impressive prop Mike Cooper unable to take his place in the 17 because of injury while Josh Charnley is a doubt after dislocating his shoulder last time out against the Giants.

- The season was cut short to avoid any further postponements because of COVID-19 and that saw the play-offs extended to six teams with the Black and Whites sneaking in as the lowest-ranked side.
- They will be boosted by the return of Josh Griffin who missed the last win over local rivals Hull KR after being forced to self-isolate with Jack Brown making way from the 21-man squad with Griffin set to come straight back into Hull’s matchday side.

Warrington Wolves have been fancied by many to finally end their wait for a league title in 2020 but they will have to vastly improve on the form they showed at the back end of the campaign if they are to do so. They come into this first play-off clash with Hull FC as the favourites having won their last two matches despite failing to impress with their peformance in either, whilst they have also beaten the Black and Whites on six of their last seven meetings in all competitions. Hull have been poor for most of the season but have ended strongly by winning four of their last five and they will fancy their chances of causing an upset here. This could be a close affair so with that in mind, it is worth siding with Hull with a +10 start on the handicap.
