THE TEAM NEWS

WESTS TIGERS

  • Wests Tigers produced a stunning performance as they blitzed North Queensland Cowboys last time out, amassing an incredible 66 points.
  • That is now three wins in their last four outings and fresh from a week off, they will be full of confidence for this contest in which they make just one change following Joe Ofahengaue’s switch to Parramatta Eels while Api Koroisau has been named to back-up after Origin on Wednesday.

Starting 13: Bula, Nofoaluma, To’a, Talau, Tupou, Wakeham, Brooks, Utoikamanu, Koroisau, Klemmer, Papali’i, Bateman, Pole – Interchanges: Simpkin, Seyfarth, Twal, Kepaoa – Reserves: Naden, James, Laurie, Matamua, Da Silva

Unavailable: Adam Doueihi (Injured), Charlie Staines (Injured)

CANBERRA RAIDERS

  • Canberra Raiders made an immediate return to winning ways as they got the better of South Sydney Rabbitohs last week to put their disappointing performance against Manly Sea Eagles well and truly behind them.
  • That is now six wins in their last seven matches for the Raiders as their climb up the ladder continues but they have been forced into a change here following Corey Harawira-Naera’s seizure on the pitch last week while Ricky Stuart has made the strange decision to rest Jarrod Croker so that the veteran can make his 300th appearance in Canberra next week.

Starting 13: Kris, Cotric, Hopoate, Timoko, Rapana, Wighton, Fogarty, Papali’i, Woolford, Saulo, Young, Horsburgh, Tapine – Interchanges: Starling, Guler, Frawley, Maritoa – Reserves: Puru, Levi, Smith-Shields, Savage, Hola

Unavailable: Adrian Trevilyan (Injured), Elliott Whitehead (Suspended), Corey Harawira-Naera (Injured), Jarrod Croker (Rested)

THE PREDICTION

This is a tough game to call as Wests Tigers play host to Canberra Raiders. Both teams have done well of late and will fancy their chances of claiming another victory. Wests were excellent last time out as they hammered North Queensland Cowboys while the Raiders did a job on South Sydney Rabbitohs. This one could go either way if they are able to back those efforts up and with that in mind, expect a tight affair with the winning margin set to be 1-12 points either way.
