THE TEAM NEWS

NEW ZEALAND WARRIORS

  • New Zealand Warriors made it three successive victories as they proved to be far too good for St. George Illawarra Dragons in what was an eye-catching attacking display.
  • Dallin Watene-Zelezniak ran in four tries as the Warriors maintained their challenge for a top four spot but they have been forced into a change for this game with Marata Niukore copping a three-game ban and he is replaced by Mitch Barnett.

Starting 13: Nicoll-Klokstad, Watene-Zelezniak, Berry, Pompey, Montoya, Metcalf, Johnson, Fonua-Blake, Egan, Afoa, Ford, Curran, Harris – Interchanges: Walker, Barnett, Sironen, Ale – Reserves: Lussick, Wiliame, Volkman, Going, Maiu’u

Unavailable: Valingi Kepu (Injured), Te Maire Martin (Injured), Jazz Tevaga (Injured), Edward Kosi (Injured), Taine Tuaupiki (Injured), Ali Leiataua (Injured), Marata Niukore (Suspended)

SOUTH SYDNEY RABBITOHS

  • South Sydney Rabbitohs’ alarming run of form continued as they suffered a fourth loss in their last five outings and there will be real worry in the camp having struggled on both sides of the ball in last week’s loss to North Queensland Cowboys.
  • The Rabbitohs have been woeful defensively of late but they went missing in attack last week too and they have now lost Jacob Host to a ban which sees Shaquai Mitchell receive a recall.

Starting 13: Taaffe, Johnston, Tass, Graham, Kennar, Walker, Ilias, Tatola, Cook, Sele, Koloamatangi, Chee Kam, Murray – Interchanges: Havili, S. Mitchell, Moale, Burgess – Reserves: Munro, Milne, Hawkins, Mamouzelos, Gagai

Unavailable: Latrell Mitchell (Injured), Jai Arrow (Injured), Jacob Host (Suspended)

THE PREDICTION

New Zealand Warriors look every inch a top four team and will look to make it four successive wins as they take on one of their rivals to achieve that feat as they take on South Sydney Rabbitohs. The Warriors were far too good for St. George Illawarra Dragons last week and now face an out-of-form Rabbitohs outfit. The Bunnies have struggled of late and their ineffective defence could be exploited by the free-flowing attack of the Warriors so expect the hosts to end their seven-game losing run in matchups against Souths.
