Melbourne Stars vs Perth Scorchers prediction

Perth Scorchers laid down a big marker by thrashing Melbourne Renegades by nine wickets last time out, and they now look to do the same against Meg Lanning's Melbourne Stars. We highlighted the Scorchers duo of Beth Mooney and Sophie Devine in our preview of Perth's last game, and it was those two who took centre stage, with captain Mooney striking 58 and Devine 47 in an unbroken stand of 124.

This does not bode well for the Stars. They need to find a way to stop those two juggernauts if they are to stand any chance of success here. While Melbourne boasts a big name of their own in Lanning, who also began the new campaign well, she isn't as well supported with the bat as Mooney and Devine are.

Runs could come from anywhere in this Scorchers unit, and that bodes well on what is likely to be a good batting surface at Junction Oval. This makes backing the visitors a good move.
