Janakpur Bolts bounced back extremely well from their 19-run defeat against Karnali Yaks, registering an impressive eight-wicket win over Kathmandu Gorkhas. Former England international Moeen Ali utilised his vast experience at the crease, scoring a patient 58 not out to guide the Bolts home without any trouble. Rahul Yadav also deserves credit, having picked up four wickets with the ball earlier in the match.
Pokhara Avengers, meanwhile, posted 145/7 batting first in their opening game, but it proved to be in a losing effort, as Sudurpaschim Royals chased the target down with six wickets and just over three overs to spare. Despite that defeat, Pokhara can take positives from the game. For starters, they batted impressively, and if the Avengers can stay on the same track, they are more than capable of accumulating a winning score this time around.
The key for them will be the bowlers. If they can improve their cutting edge and take more wickets at important points, Pokhara are more than capable of running through Janakpur, who have already been bowled out once in this tournament. Expect a fairly close game between these two sides, but in the end, the shrewd move may be to back Pokhara.
