THE TEAM NEWS

GOLD COAST TITANS

  • Gold Coast Titans suffered a second loss in succession as they were beaten in a tight encounter with Canterbury Bulldogs last time out but the manner of that loss will have been of huge frustration.
  • The Titans boasted an eight-point lead with under 20 minutes of the game remaining but failed to see the game out and they will now have to make do without veteran Kieran Foran, although Origin duo David Fifita and Tino Fa’asuamaleaui have been named to back-up.

Starting 13: Kini, Khan-Pereira, Sami, Schoupp, J. Fifita, Campbell, Boyd, Fotuaika, Randall, T. Fa’asuamaleaui, D. Fifita, Stimson, Liu – Interchanges: Verrills, Clark, Haas, I. Fa’asuamaleaui – Reserves: Leeming, Kelly, Jolliffe, Mikaele, Maumalo

Unavailable: Beau Fermor (Injured), Toby Sexton (Injured), AJ Brimson (Injured), Kieran Foran (Injured)

SOUTH SYDNEY RABBITOHS

  • South Sydney Rabbitohs looked like the team to beat in the NRL after a hugely impressive run of form but since making it to the top of the ladder, they have since lost their last two matches.
  • They fell short in their clash with Canberra Raiders last week and while they get Cameron Murray and Jai Arrow back on deck after they played in State of Origin on Wednesday, they will still be without key man Latrell Mitchell after he suffered a calf strain while training with the Blues.

Starting 13: Taaffe, Johnston, Tass, Graham, Kennar, Walker, Ilias, Tatola, Cook, Sele, Koloamatangi, Host, Murray – Interchanges: Arrow, Chee Kam, S. Mitchell, Suluka-Fifita – Reserves: Milne, Cartwright, Mamouzelos, Duncan, Hawkins

Unavailable: Siliva Havili (Injured), Davvy Moale (Injured), Thomas Burgess (Injured), Latrell Mitchell (Injured)

THE PREDICTION

Gold Coast Titans have lost their last two matches and will be desperate to avoid a third successive loss but face a tough task against South Sydney Rabbitohs. The visitors have also lost their last two but are able to field a stronger side here and will believe they have the quality to prevail. They have won the past seven matches between the two teams and that record alone makes them difficult to ignore here, despite the absence of Latrell Mitchell.
