The prediction

Richmond (17th) is coming off a brutal reality check in Round 15, receiving a 79-point thrashing from the Western Bulldogs (135-56). The heavy defeat was their fifth straight loss.

Adelaide (4th) had a bye in Round 15. They will be well-rested but keen to atone for their last outing in Round 14, where they suffered a narrow 47-44 loss to Hawthorn in a low-scoring scrap.

In a team that was comprehensively beaten, the physical presence of Tim Taranto was a rare highlight, amassing 28 disposals and 14 contested possessions. He needs more support from his peers however as he has played a lone hand most weeks.

For Adelaide, veteran forward Taylor Walker will be relishing this matchup. He boasts a remarkable record against the Tigers, having kicked 39 goals in 14 career games and has kicked at least one goal in each matchup.

Richmond beat Adelaide by 8 points in the most recent meeting back in June last season and have won four out of the last five matchups.

Adelaide enters as one of the shortest-priced favourites of the round with good reason. They are a top-four team taking on a bottom-two side and will be highly motivated to put forward a dominant performance at the MCG.
