Real Madrid vs Athletic Bilbao prediction

Real Madrid have been very underwhelming throughout this season, with Jose Mourinho set to return to the Bernabeu to replace Alvaro Arbeloa in the dugout. Los Blancos have won three of their last four matches in La Liga after edging past a now safe Sevilla side by a goal to nil at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.

They now face an Athletic Club side that, under the management of Ernesto Valverde, have been very impressive in recent seasons – up until this year, which will be the last of the Valverde era ahead of the arrival of former Borussia Dortmund boss Edin Terzic this summer.

Athletic are set for an underwhelming bottom-half finish. Madrid should get another victory but, again, it is unlikely to be a thrilling and convincing performance from the hosts.

Real Madrid vs Athletic Bilbao tip: Real Madrid to win & under 3.5 goals
