Real Betis preview: Hammered last week

Real Betis had started the season well with back-to-back victories against Real Sociedad and Valencia, both by a goal to nil, before being hammered by Levante.

At Estadio Ciutat de Valencia, Betis were beaten 5-2 by Levante with goals scored by Dela, Enzo Bardeli and Jon Olasagasti as well as a Brugui brace for the Valencians after an entertaining first half in which the scoreline was 2-2 with Los Verdiblancos strikes from Marc Bartra and Rodrigo Riquelme.

Real Madrid preview: Strong start

It has been a brilliant start to the season for Jose Mourinho’s second stint in charge of Real Madrid as Los Blancos begin with three from three.

After edging past Espanyol in their opener, Madrid then hammered Real Sociedad by four goals to one before then being Malaga by four goals to nil at the Bernabeu with Jude Bellingham and Kylian Mbappe in fine form, as well as strong performances across the pitch from Dean Huijsen, Fede Valverde and Vinicius Junior.

Real Betis team news: Deadline day drama

Pablo Garcia has surprisingly, and very upsettingly for him, left Betis for Racing Santander in order to make space for Dani Ceballos. Fellow new signing Diego Conde has been sidelined since the start of the season.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Alex Valles; Hector Bellerin, Marc Bartra, Natan, Fran Garcia; Facundo Bernal, Marc Roca; Antony, Isco, Rodrigo Riquelme; Parrott

Unavailable: Conde (Injured), Aitor Ruibal (Injured)

Questionable: Lo Celso (Injured)

Real Madrid team news: A few absentees

Jose Mourinho is still settling on his perfect eleven but the only spot really still up for grabs is at right-back with Denzel Dumfries potentially likelier to get the nod in a tougher game ahead of Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Courtois; Dumfries, Rudiger, Dean Huijsen, Cucurella; Fede Valverde, Silva; Guler, Bellingham, Vinicius Junior; Mbappe

Unavailable: Eder Militao (Injured), Raul Asencio (Injured), Mendy (Injured), Thiago Pitarch (Injured), Tchouameni (Injured), Rodrygo (Injured)

Questionable: Endrick (Fitness)

Real Betis vs Real Madrid prediction

Real Betis were strong against Real Sociedad and Valencia but tried to become even more proactive against Levante, perhaps to their detriment. Real Madrid will be wary that Betis may become a little more circumspect this time around but that shouldn’t matter too much given the form that they are in. Betis in Seville are always tough opposition and may well score in Andalusia but the visitors remain firm favourites.
