Austria manager Ralf Rangnick has announced his 26-man squad for FIFA World Cup 2026.

As they head into FIFA World Cup 2026, ending 28 years without appearing on the global stage, Austria boss Ralf Rangnick has named an experienced and strong squad for this summer.

Headlining the squad is captain David Alaba, who missed out on UEFA EURO 2024 due to injury and has struggled for game time at Real Madrid due to his persistent injuries in recent years.

Across the middle of the park, the Austrians boast a fair bit of pedigree with Bayern Munich’s Konrad Laimer and Borussia Dortmund’s Marcel Sabitzer the key stars.

As well as that duo, though, the Austrians boast plenty of other Bundesliga talent in midfield, such as RB Leipzig duo Xaver Schlager and Nicolas Seiwald, as well as former England youth international Carney Chukwuemeka.

In the final third, the key man will be the versatile Christoph Baumgartner with their other firepower coming from 37-year-old Marko Arnautovic and 32-year-old Michael Gregoritsch.

Alongside Alaba at the back, Austria also possess some very solid versatility with the likes of Kevin Danso, Stefan Posch and Philipp Lienhart.

There are no major surprise absentees, albeit former Leeds United man Max Wober may have expected to be called upon after being included in their squad during the March international break.
