Portugal vs Nigeria prediction

Portugal, arguably, have the best midfield in the tournament this summer with Vitinha, Joao Neves and Bruno Fernandes. They head into the FIFA World Cup on the back of a 2-1 victory over Chile last week, meaning that they have lost one of their last 12 matches, which included winning the UEFA Nations League last summer.

They now face a Nigeria side that most recently shared an entertaining 2-2 draw with Poland in a friendly last week after they won the 2026 Unity Cup against Zimbabwe and Jamaica at The Valley in London. They have been improved since failing to qualify for the FIFA World Cup, finishing third at the CAF Africa Cup of Nations this winter.

The Nigerians have some excellent players and will believe they can bloody the nose of the Portuguese but Portugal have to remain firm favourites in Leiria.

Portugal vs Nigeria tip: Portugal to win & both teams to score
