The prediction

North Melbourne (17th) suffered a 31-point defeat to the Sydney Swans at the SCG in Round 19 (84-53). The Kangaroos have now lost four consecutive matches, highlighting the long road ahead for the young group.

Geelong (4th) took care of business in professional style, recording a comfortable 31-point victory over St Kilda at their GMHBA Stadium fortress (113-82). The win was a solid response after some recent slip-ups and kept them firmly in the top-four hunt.

For North Melbourne, co-captain Jy Simpkin continues to lead from the front. He fought hard in the midfield against a quality Sydney outfit, finishing with 28 disposals as he tried to will his team into the contest.

For Geelong, superstar forward Jeremy Cameron was the difference-maker against the Saints. He was simply too good for his opponents, booting a game-high five goals to extend his lead in the race for the Coleman Medal.

The historical record shows complete and utter dominance by Geelong. The Cats have won ten straight matches against the Kangaroos.

The class gap between these two sides is significant. Geelong's experience, system, and immense forward-line potency will be far too much for the developing Kangaroos to contain. North will bring effort, but Geelong will be too polished.
