JAVID BASHARAT VS VICTOR HENRY LOWDOWN
Javid Basharat (14-0) heads to Abu Dhabi to continue his ascent up the bantamweight division. He is still protecting his unbeaten record after three UFC fights and unanimous decisions. He has already collected the talented scalps of Trevin Jones (2022), Tony Gravely (2022) and Mateus Mendonca (2023).
Victor Henry (23-6) is coming off a decision win over Gravely himself although it was a closer split decision back in March at UFC Fight Night 221. That came in response to losing a unanimous decision to veteran Raphael Assuncao (2022) which came as a surprise after beating Raoni Barcelos (2022) in another unanimous decision on his debut.
JAVID BASHARAT VS VICTOR HENRY PREDICTION
Henry is another big threat to Basharat’s record. He is an aggressive striker with an array of techniques attacking from all angles. He has good cardio, but his takedown defence is a worry.
Gravely took him down three times and Basharat is a better grappler. The Londoner will back himself on the feet, but he should have the nous secure a takedown before Henry lands any damage.
We feel Basharat’s wrestling will get the job done here giving the judges an easy decision, but he will need to be clinical to inflict Henry’s first finish. Henry is one of the biggest underdogs on the card and after that Barcelos fight, a small punt makes sense.
Prediction: Basharat via Decision
Value bet: Henry via Decision
