Elves Brener (15-3) will be buoyed by fighting on home soil and despite a late change in opponent, he will be confident of extending a four-fight winning streak. After almost a year out of action, Brener is staying busy in 2023 but he will be looking for another win in what is his third fight in this calendar year.

Kaynan Kruschewsky (15-1 with one no contest) has stepped on just a couple of days’ notice after Esteban Ribovics pulled out of this bout with Brener. Kruschewsky brings an impressive record into the Octagon but all at a significantly lower level than the big stage so this will be a fitting test for the UFC newcomer.

These two fighters have very similar records on paper but there is a marked difference with the quality of opponent in which Elves Brener has faced compared to Kaynan Kruschewsky.

Brener will be eager to impress in front of what promises to be a raucous Sao Paulo crowd and the submission specialist will look to impose his will over compatriot Kruschewsky.

With Kruschewsky stepping up on such short notice, Brener has another significant factor in his favour and it is hard to see anything other than him extending his win streak to five.

Prediction: Brener to win
