Marseille preview: Mixed start
Having appointed former Lille and Stade Rennais boss Bruno Genesio over the summer, Olympique de Marseille began their campaign with a 4-0 hammering of Strasbourg with all four goals being scored in the second half after Strasbourg went down to ten men.
A week later, Marseille then succumbed to a 2-0 defeat to Monaco at Stade Louis II with young German striker Paris Brunner scoring an impressive brace as the Monegasque managed to fairly easily control the attacks of l’OM.
Paris preview: Strong start
Over the summer, former Chelsea and Strasbourg boss Liam Rosenior was appointed to replace Antoine Kombouare with the Englishman tasked with ensuring the ambitious and big spending Paris push towards the European spots in Ligue 1 this season.
After a goalless draw with newly-promoted Troyes in their opener, Paris eased to an impressive 3-0 defeat of Nice at Stade Jean-Bouin last weekend with goals scored by Lassine Sinayoko, Samir Chergui and Vincent Marchetti.
Marseille team news: Igor Paixao a doubt
Having been heavily linked with a move away, Igor Paixao has remained at Marseille but is a doubt for this one, while Geoffrey Kondogbia is now sidelined due to a thigh injury.

Marseille will be aware that with the crowd on their side they can be a real force, but if things begin to turn then, unlike anywhere else, the hostility turns to them from their own supporters. Paris will seek to exploit that by keeping things tight and looking to strike on the counter-attack and so a low-scoring affair would appear a decent bet for this one down in Southern France.
