Mallorca preview: Martin’s Majorcans

After an extremely disappointing campaign thus far, Real Mallorca took the unpopular decision to sack Jago Arrasate, seemingly a players' favourite, and replace him with former River Plate boss and Manchester City centre-back Martin Demichelis.

The Majorcans put in a strong performance in his first game as they went 2-0 up against Osasuna but, for a second time this season, conceded two late goals to be forced into settling with a draw against the Pamplona-based outfit.

Espanyol preview: Desperate for a win

Espanyol come into this one on the back of a 1-1 draw with rock-bottom Real Oviedo, having to fight back from a goal down against the very poor Asturians, courtesy of a Kike strike in the 36th minute.

The Catalans, under the management of Manolo Gonzalez, have been woeful for a while now and they are winless in their last ten matches after being in European contention for the majority of the campaign.

Mallorca vs Espanyol prediction

Espanyol are sliding down the table quite quickly but, despite their average result against Oviedo, performances have been improved, ever so slightly, in the last couple of games. Mallorca are not in last chance saloon but really could do with winning games like this. That should lead to quite a stretched and potentially desperate encounter in Palma de Mallorca in which both teams scoring seems a good bet.

Mallorca vs Espanyol tip: Both teams to score
