The first-leg of this UEFA Nations League League C/League D promotion/relegation playoff, Luxembourg managed to defeat Malta by two goals to nil with goals from Vincent Thill and Mathias Olesen.

Luxembourg have been a team punching above their weight until a decline in the last 18 months or so, while Malta themselves have actually shown signs of improvement, all to only be more or less undone the other day.

Malta will still believe they can bloody the nose of Luxembourg and throw everything at it but the hosts remain firm favourites for this one.
