Inter Milan Preview: Potential treble to potentially trophyless

Inter come into this one on the back of a thrilling 3-3 draw with Barcelona at Estadi Olympic Lluis Companys in the first-leg of their UEFA Champions League semi-final in midweek in a game in which Inter had taken a 2-0 lead early on and then went 3-2 up in the second-half.

The Nerazzurri were impressive in midweek but they have endured a difficult run of form with just two victories in their last nine matches across all competitions with that run seeing them eliminated from the Coppa Italia as well as falling behind Napoli at the top-of-the-table.

Hellas Verona Preview: Mid-table Verona

Hellas Verona come into this one on the back of a continuation of a poor run of form as they were beaten 2-0 by Cagliari at the Marcantonio Bentegodi last weekend due to goals from Leonardo Pavoletti and Alessandro Deiola in either half of the game.

The visitors are now winless in their last five matches in Serie A with just one victory in their last eight matches. They head into the final four games of the 2024/25 Serie A campaign sitting seven points clear of the bottom three and the relegation places.

Inter Milan Team News: Lautaro injury

At half-time of their thriller with Barcelona in midweek, Argentina international Lautaro Martinez was taken off due to injury and he won’t start this weekend as he attempts to be involved in the second-leg of that clash at San Siro during the next midweek.

Predicted XI (3-5-2): Sommer; Bisseck, De Vrij, Bastoni; Darmian, Barella, Calhanoglu, Frattesi, Carlos Augusto; Taremi, Arnautovic

Unavailable: Pavard (Injured), Carboni (Injured), Lautaro Martinez (Injured)

Questionable:

Hellas Verona Team News: Couple of suspensions

Ahead of their trip to Milan this weekend, Hellas Verona are dealing with a couple of key suspension issues such as defensive duo Davide Coppola and Daniele Ghilardi, whilst the likes of Pawel Dawidowicz, Tomas Suslov and Casper Tengstedt are doubts.

Predicted XI (3-1-4-2): Montipo; Oyegoke, Frese, Valentini; Duda; Tchatchoua, Bradaric, Serdar, Suslov; Daniel Mosquera, Sarr

Unavailable: Coppola (Suspended), Ghilardi (Suspended), Harroui (Injured)

Questionable: Dawidowicz (Injured), Suslov (Injured), Tengstedt (Injured)

Inter Milan vs Hellas Verona Prediction

Inter may well rest and rotate a few for this one as they try and recuperate for that second-leg against Barca but they have fallen behind Napoli in the Serie A title race and a victory is much-needed here. They face a Verona side that appear to have taken the rest of the season off following their safety being secure and they also have some key issues at the back for this one so siding with Inter would appear the way to go for this one, especially at San Siro.
