Fluminense vs Palmeiras prediction

Fluminense come into this one on the back of a 1-0 defeat to Flamengo in the derby the other day. Fluminense narrowly escaped their quarter-final against Platense in mid-September, winning 3-2 on aggregate after losing the second-leg away from home.

Under the management of Abel Ferreira, Palmeiras hammered Corinthians by four goals to one to continue to challenge Flamengo at the top of the Brazilian Serie A. Palmeiras edged past LDU Quito on penalties in the quarter-finals.

Palmeiras are unbeaten in 12 matches across all competitions since losing to, ironically, Fluminense. A low-scoring first-leg is to be expected here with a tense and nervy affair expected.

Fluminense vs Palmeiras tip: Under 2.5 goals
