Hellas Verona preview: Struggling Verona

Hellas Verona have been rock-bottom in Serie A for the majority of the campaign but they now sit above Pisa with ten games of the season to go. They begin the match day sitting seven points adrift of safety.

Verona did show some fight last weekend as they edged past Bologna by two goals to one, coming from behind at the Renato Dall’Ara, courtesy of strikes from Martin Frese and Kieran Bowie.

Genoa preview: Fighting Genoa

Ever since the appointment of Daniele De Rossi, Genoa have been much-improved as they push themselves away from the bottom three and the relegation places with mid-table survival once again now expected.

The Genovese come into this one on the back of a surprise 2-1 defeat of De Rossi’s former club Roma at the Luigi Ferraris in Liguria last week, courtesy of goals from Junior Messias and Vitinha.

Hellas Verona team news: Defensive injuries

Former Southampton centre-back Armel Bella-Kotchap is sidelined alongside fellow defender Tobias Slotsager, while Pol Lirola and Sandi Lovric are among those that remain doubtful, too.

Predicted XI (3-5-2): Montipo; Edmundsson, Nelsson, Frese; Oyegoke, Akpa-Akpro, Gagliardini, Harroui, Bradaric; Orban, Bowie

Unavailable: Bella-Kotchap (Injured), Slotsager (Injured), Serdar (Injured)

Questionable: Pol Lirola (Injured), Bernede (Injured), Lovric (Injured)

Genoa team news: Masini suspended

Genoa midfielder Patrizio Masini is missing through suspension, while Iceland international attacking midfielder Mikael Ellertsson is a doubt alongside Tommaso Baldanzi.

Predicted XI (3-4-3): Biljow; Marcandalli, Ostigard, Johan Vasquez; Sabelli, Frendrup, Onana, Norton-Cuffy; Junior Messias, Ekhator, Ekuban

Unavailable: Masini (Suspended)

Questionable: Ellertsson (Injured), Baldanzi (Injured)

Hellas Verona vs Genoa prediction

Hellas Verona are a very poor team and they are destined for relegation. However, prior to that victory against Bologna, they had begun to show some fight and they will fancy themselves to again be difficult opposition for Genoa. Genoa have suffered just one defeat in their last four matches and so a draw may well be a good value bet for this one this weekend.

Hellas Verona vs Genoa tip: Draw
