The prediction

Hawthorn (6th) had their four match winning streak snapped in a bruising 77-64 loss to Fremantle in a tough road trip to Perth.

Port Adelaide (11th) survived a significant scare from West Coast, finishing with five unanswered goals to secure an unconvincing 87-61 win.

Hawthorn’s Jack Ginnivan continued his excellent season as a high half-forward against Fremantle, finding plenty of the ball to finish with 27 disposals and a goal.

Zak Butters was best-on-ground for Port Adelaide against the Eagles, willing his team over the line with an outstanding performance of 38 disposals, seven clearances, and a goal.

Port Adelaide defeated Hawthorn by 30 points (121-91) during Gather Round earlier this season. The Power have a strong recent record, having won the last four meetings between the sides.

This looms as a genuine coin-toss. Port Adelaide has had the wood over the Hawks recently, but Hawthorn has turned UTAS Stadium into a formidable home ground. In what should be a tight contest, the Hawthorn home advantage might be the deciding factor.

Hawthorn vs Port Adelaide tip: Hawthorn to win by 20+ points
