The prediction

Hawthorn played superbly at their home away from home when they defeated Port Adelaide 87-49 in Tasmania last Saturday. Jack Gunston wasn’t at his most accurate in front of goals kicking three to go along with two misses however the balanced attack up front was more than enough to handle the Power.

Carlton eased the pressure on their entire coaching staff after they recorded their first win in five weeks by defeating the Melbourne Demons 78-70.Ashton Moir recorded a career high four goals from just 11 touches while the mercurial Charlie Curnow chimed in with three majors from 15 kicks.

Carlton proved they are at their best when Patrick Cripps gets plenty of touches and this was no different last week when he recorded 29. For the Hawks Dylan Moore continued his push for All-Australian honours with 32 more disposals to go along with two goals.

Head-to-head in recent times has been evenly matched. Hawthorn have won the past two matches including Round Two this season while Carlton won the three encounters prior to that.

Carlton may have gained some respectability back last week, however we think that will be short lived with a confident Hawthorn team looking to take another step towards a coveted top four spot in a heavily congested ladder.
