The prediction

The Hawthorn Hawks play host to the defending premier Brisbane Lions on Saturday in what looks a fascinating matchup on paper. Both teams still sit in lofty positions in the Top Four despite suffering surprise losses last week.

The Lions were defeated by the Melbourne Demons who have showed renewed resilience in the past month after a torrid start to the season.

The Hawks went down narrowly to the Suns in Darwin and lost few fans on that effort. Back in the cooler climate of Melbourne may well be the recipe for getting back on track.

Hawthorn have won the past five matches between the teams after the Lions won four straight prior to that. The Hawks will look to key possession winners James Sicily and Jai Newcombe while for the Lions it will be the usual suspects in Lachie Neale and the Ashcroft brothers.
