Harriet Dart vs Tatiana Prozorova prediction

Harriet Dart enters the main draw in Guangzhou as a qualifier. The Briton also qualified for the Japan Women’s Open last week, losing in the first-round to Talia Gibson in two tight sets. Dart’s recent form has been more encouraging, and she tested Iva Jovic in the second-round of the China Open earlier this month. She took the first set comfortably, with Jovic coming back to win 2-6 6-3 6-3. She has reached two lower-level titles in 2026, but a title has eluded her. 

Her first-round opponent is fellow qualifier Tatiana Prozorova. She earned her spot in the main draw with consecutive qualifying victories over Ekaterine Gorgodze and Joanna Garland. The 23-year-old Russian has enjoyed a breakout year on hard courts, highlighted by a W75 title in Maribor and a dangerous run to the semi-finals of the Singapore Open last month. This included a three-hour comeback victory over third seed Alexandra Eala.

Both players are battling hard on the Asian swing, but Prozorova has shown more upside. The youngster may just edge out Dart in the critical moments.
