The prediction

Both sides are in strong form and a win here would be a major statement in the run home to the finals. With the finals picture still murky with so many sides equally matched on wins, percentages may play a key role in determining who finishes where.

GWS (8th) are coming off a commanding 59-point win over the one-win West Coast Eagles (111-52) in Round 17.

Geelong (4th) were equally ruthless, dismantling Richmond by 72 points (124-52) at GMHBA Stadium.

GWS midfielder Finn Callaghan was superb against the Eagles, gathering a career-high 37 disposals and chiming in with a goal.

Geelong's veteran star forward Jeremy Cameron was a handful for the Tigers, booting four goals from his 19 disposals and he might have had more if not for some wayward shots on goal.

These two sides have already played out a thriller this season, with GWS claiming a narrow four point victory in Round 9. The Giants have won the last three against the Cats although their form in Canberra has been spotty to say the least.
