Girona vs Elche prediction

Ahead of the final day of the campaign, Real Mallorca sit 19th on 39 points with Girona on 40 points. Just ahead of that, Elche, Osasuna and Levante are on 42 points with Alaves and Sevilla up on 43.

Girona will survive if they win this game and that is all the Catalans have to think about. Elche could well still survive because the head-to-head rule in La Liga will mean a mini-league between any teams level on points and, frankly, there are too many potential permutations for that to go through.

Girona, though, have collapsed of late with a 1-0 defeat to Atletico Madrid last week extending their winless run of form to seven matches. Elche, on the other hand, edged past Getafe to lift themselves out of the drop last weekend.

These two do play quite attacking football, or at least their managers prefer that, and, while a nervy affair, it could also turn into a rip-roaring cup tie-like clash at Montilivi.

Girona vs Elche tip: Both teams to score
