In a squad that boasts 25 Dutch-born players, Tahith Chong is the only player to be representing Curacao this summer that was born on the tiny Caribbean island. The smallest country, both by size and population, to qualify for a FIFA World Cup, Curacao do not boast high expectations but whatever they do manage to achieve or want to do will be reliant on the performances of Chong. A former Manchester United academy graduate, now of Sheffield United in the Championship, the versatility of the 26-year-old is important, but his ability in the final third will be imperative for Dick Advocaat in a tough group alongside Germany, Ecuador and Cote d’Ivoire.
