His academy career saw him play at Sevilla before stints at Eupen, Villarreal and Sporting Gijon to kick off his professional life but Akram Afif has established himself as one of the greatest players to ever play in the Qatar Stars League at Al Sadd. The 29-year-old left-winger underwhelmed at FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar but he has continued to mature and evolve into a very good player and, in a limited Qatari side, the attacker, who was essential as the Qataris won back-to-back AFC Asian Cups in 2019 and 2023, will be the key man in the final third for The Maroon One, as the gulf state are nicknamed.
