Many see France as the nation with the best chance of preventing USA from running away with this World Cup. They also went through the group stage undefeated with three wins from three, accruing over 300 points and giving up just 178. France are also yet to drop below 95 points in a single game, with the likes of Gabrielle Williams, Dominique Malonga and Marine Johannes contributing heavily, all three showing their WNBA pedigree.
China edged out Puerto Rico in a qualification round thriller to reach this stage, winning out 72-75. Having precious little time to recover ahead of this quarter-final does not help their cause and fatigue could come into play the longer this game goes on. Factor in the French’s formidable offence and victory for France has to be backed.
