THE PREDICTION

Peru’s victory over Bolivia kept Ricardo Gareca’s side in the hunt for a World Cup qualifying spot but in order to sustain that challenge they absolutely have to be beating CONMEBOL basement boys Venezuela. Their away record does not make for positive reading though, as they have lost four of their last five away trips in qualifying, only managing to find the net in one of those. Venezuela have been well off the pace though, and if Peru’s fortunes on the road are going to change, it will surely be against these opponents. The edge goes to the visitors as their need is greater, but opting for the draw no bet market looks sensible as it is difficult to have full confidence in the hosts.
