THE PREDICTION
Although Bolivia still have a mathematical chance of reaching fifth place and the play-off spot, it is extremely unlikely and their World Cup hopes are essentially over now. Colombia, meanwhile, have a far more realistic chance of reaching Qatar but in all likelihood they will need to win both their remaining games to do so, and even then it may not be enough. The hosts have zero momentum behind them though, as they have failed to win any of their last seven CONMEBOL qualifying games and just as concerning is the fact they have failed to score in any of those matches. It’s now or never for Reinaldo Rivera’s side, and given Bolivia’s terrible away record in qualifying over the years, the hosts are tipped to just about get over the line here.
