THE LOWDOWN

SEVILLA

It has been a really difficult campaign for Sevilla thus far but their third manager of the season, former Watford boss Quique Sanchez Flores, is finally getting a tune out of the Andalusians, after he followed on from Jose Luis Mendilibar and Diego Alonso in the dugout at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.

They come into this one on the back of a slender 1-0 defeat away to champions-elect Real Madrid at the Bernabeu last weekend. In that game, Luka Modric scored a late 81st minute winner for Los Blancos. Prior to that one, though, Sevilla had been unbeaten in four matches as they move themselves away from the bottom three and the relegation places.

REAL SOCIEDAD

Under the management of Imanol Aguacil, Real Sociedad play one of the most intense pressing styles in European football. However, their season, as has been the case in each of the last few years, is beginning to fade away with their intense style of football often leading to a dip in form in the second-half of the campaign as a result of fatigue.

La Real come into this one on the back of a 1-1 draw with Real Mallorca in the second-leg of their Copa del Rey semi-final tie at the Anoeta in midweek, eventually losing the tie by five goals to four on aggregate. They are also heading out of the UEFA Champions League with a 2-0 deficit in their Round of 16 tie against PSG and they have won just one of their last eight games in all competitions.

THE TEAM NEWS

SEVILLA

Both Lucas Ocampos and Djibril Sow are suspended for this weekend with the likes of Joan Jordan, Erik Lamela, Lucien Agoume, Marcao and Dodi Lukebakio are out injured.

PREDICTED XI (5-3-2): Nyland; Navas, Bade, Ramos, Salas, Pedrosa; Oliver Torres, Soumare, Suso; En-Nesyri, Romero

UNAVAILABLE: Ocampos (Suspended), Sow (Suspended), Joan Jordan (Injured), Lamela (Injured), Agoume (Injured), Marcao (Injured), Lukebakio (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE: Acuna (Injured), Mariano Diaz (Injured), Gudelj (Injured)

REAL SOCIEDAD

Real Sociedad are missing several key first-team players for this weekend, including Carlos Fernandez and Alvaro Odriozola, whilst Aritz Elustondo is a doubt, too.

PREDICTED XI (4-1-4-1): Alex Remiro; Traore, Le Normand, Pacheco, Galan; Zubimendi; Kubo, Mendez, Zakharyan, Barrenetxea; Silva

UNAVAILABLE: Odriozola (Injured), Merquelanz (Injured), Fernandez (Injured), Munoz (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE: Elustondo (Injured)

THE PREDICTION

Quite bizarrely, this one has thrown up some entertaining encounters in recent years as the clash of styles tend to suit a more open game of football, despite the fact the two teams are generally unconvincing and inefficient in attack. Backing Sevilla might well be the way to go for this one as they are currently difficult to beat, despite a lot of absentees, and they come up against a badly out of form Real Sociedad side on Saturday.
