THE LOWDOWN

REAL BETIS

Under the management of former Real Madrid, Malaga, Manchester City and West Ham United coach Manuel Pellegrini, Real Betis have had major financial issues to deal with this season and endured a major blip in the early spring but they are finishing the season with a bit of a flourish as they look set to qualify for Europe, once again.

The Andalusians come into this one on the back of collecting ten points from their last four matches in La Liga. They cruised to a comfortable 2-0 win at El Sadar against Osasuna last weekend with goals from Ayoze Perez and Pablo Fornals before half-time. That means they could still finish in the top six, too.

ALMERIA

It has been a miserable campaign for Almeria with relegation having already been confirmed and they remain at the bottom-of-the-table but throughout the season, performances have been a lot better than their really pathetic results have shown. They do, though, come into this one on the back of a second La Liga victory this season.

Under the management of former West Bromwich Albion coach Pepe Mel, Almeria enjoyed a surprising 1-0 victory over Rayo Vallecano at Vallecas last weekend with Anthony Lozano notching a 30th minute winner. Prior to that victory, they had suffered four successive losses since beating Las Palmas before the March international break.

THE TEAM NEWS

REAL BETIS

Cedric Bakambu, Hector Bellerin and Marc Bartra are all unavailable with injury for Real Betis this weekend, whilst German Pezzella, Assane Diao and Chimy Avila are doubts.

PREDICTED XI (4-2-3-1): Silva; Sabaly, Ruibal, Riad, Miranda; Rodriguez, Cardoso; Fornals, Isco, Ayoze Perez; Willian Jose

UNAVAILABLE: Bakambu (Injured), Bellerin (Injured), Bartra (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE: Pezzella (Injured), Diao (Injured), Avila (Injured)

ALMERIA

Almeria have three availability concerns for their short trip to Real Betis as the likes of Cesar Montes, Largie Ramazani and Gonzalo Melero all missing through suspension.

PREDICTED XI (4-2-3-1): Maximiano; Pubill, Langa, Chumi, Centelles; Gonzalez, Pena; Baptistao, Arribas, Embarba; Lozano

UNAVAILABLE: Melero (Suspended), Ramadani (Suspended), Montes (Suspended)

QUESTIONABLE: Radovanovic (Injured)

THE PREDICTION

We have an Andalusian derby this weekend that could actually provide a fair bit of entertainment. Even in Real Betis’ recent run of improved form, Manuel Pellegrini’s men have still conceded in three of the four games in which they have been unbeaten. Almeria will not necessarily be overly ambitious at the Benito Villamarin but have shown some of the leading sides in La Liga that they can be competitive and dangerous so a fun Betis win seems a good bet.

TIP: REAL BETIS TO WIN & BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE
