THE LOWDOWN
OSASUNA
Replicating anything close to last season whereby Osasuna reached the final of the Copa del Rey and finished seventh in La Liga, qualifying for the UEFA Europa Conference League, would have been viewed as a successful campaign for the Pamplona-based outfit but they are enjoying an impressive recent run of form which has lifted them into the top-half of the table.
That recent run means they are now back in contention for a top seven spot but they are the definite outsiders in that race. They come into this one, though, on the back of a 2-0 loss in Catalonia against high-flying Girona. Portu scored an opener in the 13th minute of that match before Savio clinched all three points in the second-half.
REAL MADRID
Despite Jude Bellingham serving the first of a two-game suspension last weekend, champions-elect Real Madrid still produced an impressive performance at the Bernabeu as they hammered a relegation-threatened Celta Vigo side by four goals to nil with strikes from Vinicius Junior and Arda Guler either side of own goals from Vicente Guaita and Carlos Dominguez.
Los Blancos, coached by Carlo Ancelotti, have been magnificent this season and have opened up a seven-point gap between themselves and Girona at the top-of-the-table. They have played 40 matches across all competitions so far this season, suffering two defeats with both of those losses coming at the Metropolitano against city rivals Atletico Madrid.

THE PREDICTION
As mentioned, Osasuna reached last season’s Copa del Rey final and they were impressive, bloodying the nose of Real Madrid but eventually suffered a defeat because Madrid, as they do, ‘found a way’. This will be a tough test for Los Blancos as El Sadar can be a difficult place for anyone to go but the likelihood is that Ancelotti’s men grind out yet another victory as they march towards the title, albeit they may not be at their fluent best.
