Elche come into this on the back of a 3-0 defeat in a Valencian derby against Levante last weekend. The home team have been relatively strong in the last few months and they sit towards the middle-of-the-table, albeit the threat of relegation does persist. Xavi’s influence on Barcelona has really begun to show since the end of the January transfer window and the Blaugrana are looking a slick and serious football team again, for the first time this season. Their good run of form started with an impressive 4-2 defeat of Atletico Madrid. They have scored four goals in four of their last six matches - including their last three matches against Valencia, Napoli and Athletic Club. Barca will come into this as the comfortable favourites.
