Back-to-back slender 1-0 wins against Saudi Arabia and Malta were welcome results for Venezuela. The South Americans endured a very difficult CONMEBOL 2022 FIFA World Cup qualification campaign but they will be pleased with those results, albeit slender wins against fairly poor opposition. They now face an Iceland side that have endured a few withdrawals as they cope with a fairly steep decline, both on and off the pitch. Their most recent outing was a 2-2 draw against Israel in June. This one is unlikely to be an entertaining game and under 2.5 goals appears likely.
