THE PREDICTION
The home team pulled off a surprise 3-1 hammering of Bulgaria at the weekend, but it doesn’t change their hopes for the rest of the qualification campaign. Lithuania remain at the bottom of the group with just one win in their six matches. They come up against a Switzerland side that can go level on points with Italy at the top of Group C. They began their qualification period with back-to-back wins in March but the departure of Vladimir Petkovic after UEFA Euro 2020 was a surprise disruption. They earned a goalless draw at home to European champions Italy last month before drawing 0-0 with Northern Ireland as well. Their 2-0 win over the Northern Irish at the weekend means they could go top of the group with a six goal win against Lithuania. A heavy and comfortable victory for the Swiss should be expected.
