THE LOWDOWN

REIMS

Stade de Reims boss Will Still is under a bit of pressure because of the amount of money that Reims have spent this season, in both transfer windows, and the fact that Still has been open about being open to a job approach from an ambitious Championship club. European qualification was surely their pre-season expectation.

So, despite that pre-season expectations and the fact they have spent a fair bit of money, Reims begin the weekend sitting firmly in the middle-of-the-table due to sheer inconsistency. They come into this one on the back of a 1-1 draw with Olympique Lyonnais at Parc OL last weekend with Joseph Okumu’s goal cancelled out by Ernest Nuamah.

NICE

In the summer, Nice, owned and operated by INEOS, took a major gamble by appointing the inexperienced Francesco Farioli. The Italian coach started extremely well but there was always a fear about the lack of goals they were scoring and that has come to pass as they drift away from the top three and potential UEFA Champions League qualification.

The southerners come into this one on the back of yet another surprise defeat as they went down by two goals to one against Nantes at the Allianz Riviera in their most recent outing, last weekend. That means they have now suffered three losses in their last four matches and they have won just one of their last eight games across all competitions.

THE TEAM NEWS

Reims have several injury issues for this weekend as Teddy Teuma, Benjamin Stambouli, Mohamed Daramy and Adama Bojang are unavailable.

QUESTIONABLE:

NICE

Nice will be without Teddy Boulhendi for this weekend due to suspension, whilst Morgan Sanson and Sofiane Diop are sidelined through injury as they travel to Reims.

PREDICTED XI (4-3-3): Bulka; Lotomba, Todibo, Dante, Perraud; Bouadoui, Louchet, Claude-Maurice; Cho, Moffi, Boga

UNAVAILABLE: Boulhendi (Suspended), Sanson (Injured), Ndayishimiye (Injured), Diop (Injured)

THE PREDICTION

We have an intriguing contest between two teams that would have arguably taken their current spot in the Ligue 1 table at this stage of the season but neither manager will feel overly comfortable about their predicament. Reims will simply be looking to grind out results between now and the end of the season, whilst there has been just 50 goals in their 27 matches so far this season. As a result, a low-scoring encounter is to be expected on Sunday afternoon.

TIP: UNDER 3.5 GOALS
