WEST HAM
- West Ham dug in to edge a precious 1-0 victory at home to Southampton last time out which saw them rise to 14th-place in the table, but still only one point above the bottom three.
- Striker Gianluca Scamacca has been ruled out of this match, the Italian needing two weeks of rehabilitation due to a knee injury but other than him, David Moyes seemingly has a fully-fit squad to choose from.
NEWCASTLE
- Newcastle took their chances in the second half to blow away fellow European contenders Man Utd, winning 2-0 and elevating themselves to third-place in the Premier League, above the Red Devils on goal difference.
- Joe Willock suffered a tight hamstring on Sunday and his availability for the trip to West Ham is in doubt, whilst Miguel Almiron is expected to miss out alongside Emil Krafth.

THE PREDICTION
Although West Ham were far from at their best on Sunday, all they will have cared about was gaining the three points which they did. It will likely prove just as tight a contest against Newcastle, who contain far more ability going forward than Southampton, so West Ham will need to replicate their defensive solidarity shown at the weekend. Breaking the Magpies down though with their formidable backline, is a very difficult task and goals are likely to be at a premium once again in East London. Back under 2.5 goals scored over 90 minutes, regardless of the final outcome.
